Why an Artist Archive?
The Artist Archive site is being payed for and run by
an artist who is a retired fire chief and organic
farmer wannabe along with one or two friends.
It was inspired by the death of another artist and the
realization that the paintings left behind in the
deceased artist's estate would probably wind up in
an attic somewhere and be lost to the world.
Many artists work as a creative outlet and do not
pursue showing their work because of the expense
and hassles involved with the gallery or sidewalk
show circuit, which often seems to be stacked in
the favor of gallery owners, frame makers, and
promoters.
This site intends to offer a venue for displaying your
art and preserving a visual record of that work
without the hassles. In addition, current plans are to
record the biographical information and work
samples on CDs to form a permanent archive
available to the public on request.
We are searching for artists to display their work on
this site. If you are an artist residing in the low
country we invite your participation with your
artwork and ideas and we look forward to hearing
from you
